Summary on all the Reflection

With the advancement of technologies, many Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools are transforming teaching and learning practices. Among the various tools, I have reflected on three tools; Google Classroom, Kahoot!, and Blog, which stands out as effective platforms that helps improve the classroom engagement and student’s learning experience.

Google Classroom, launched in 2014, serves as a communicative tool and is an educational platform, which is completely free and has been very helpful for schools, especially those with limited financial resources. Google Classroom allows educators to easily create and manage assignments, share resources, give feedback and set deadlines. For students it helps them access tasks and materials posted by their teacher anytime, which encourages independent learning and accountability. I also have shared a picture showing the main page of google classroom, where teachers can post announcements, assignments and discussion prompts, keeping students informed and connected.

The second tool I chose under constructive tool is Kahoot!, which was introduced in 2013 as a game-based learning platform which promotes engagement through hosting interactive quizzes. It transforms traditional learning into an interactive and fun experience by fostering real time participation and interaction. Educators can design quizzes that helps in formative assessment and allow them to provide immediate feedback. One of the most attractive attributes of Kahoot! is its colorful visuals and music which caters to the different learning styles. I have attached a picture which shows a quiz that I have created on the topic of 'Habit and Habitats.' it showcases the colorful, interactive format of Kahoot! that makes learning both fun and engaging. And I have also added a short video showing steps on how to create a quiz on Kahoot!.

Finally, the last ICT tool I chose is Blog that serves as an informative tool and supports authentic writing and creative expressions. Blogs allow students to share ideas, build digital literacy and reflect on their own experiences. The multimedia attribute of Blog, which includes combining texts, images, videos, and links makes them flexible and cater to different learning styles. Additionally, writing for real audience enhances motivation and communication skills of the students. However, some may find it intimidating to write publicly and may find it difficult in maintaining regular posting schedules. To add, ensuring digital safety and etiquette while using blog is also important. As for the picture I have put a screenshot of the introduction page of my blog, where I introduce myself and share my likes, dislikes and hobbies.

To sum up, these ICT tools help in build important skills like collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking skills that are very essential in the modern world.

Constructive Tool: Making Learning engaging with Kahoot!

Kahoot! Released in 2013, is an interactive learning tool that makes it easy for educators to create, share and play educational games or trivia quizzes quickly and effortlessly (Kahoot, n.d.). Integrating Kahoot! Into the teaching-learning approach can completely transform the learning experience as this platform allows teachers to create and design game-based quizzed that students can participate in real time both on their own or in groups which makes learning more engaging and fun.

I think that the most significant impact of Kahoot! was the level of enthusiasm and participation it generated. I have created a quiz on Habits and Habitats using Kahoot! and I have also participated in quizzes, and through that I have seen that learners are highly motivated to take part and give responses quickly. This effectiveness of Kahoot! lies in its competitive, game-based approach which enhances the learning outcomes by fostering engagement, participation and motivation (Wang, 2020).

Additionally, Khaoot! serves as a highly effective tool for formative assessment as it allows teachers to quickly identify areas where students have difficulty and can adjust their teaching strategies accordingly, by simply analyzing the quiz results (Kahoot!, n.d.). Furthermore, it is simple to use and its engaging visuals, the nature of games with bright colors and music can cater to different learning styles (Kahoot!, n.d.).

Despite having multiple benefits, there were some challenges too. Like any other digital tool one of the challenges I found is the issue of internet connectivity which can sometimes disrupt the flow of the game. Also, being able to balance making a game/quiz that is both enjoyable and educational can be quite challenging. Furthermore, designing games that are meaningful and engaging can take time and require careful planning to ensure that it aligns with the lesson goals

Reflecting on my experience and observation with Kahoot!, I think it is a very interesting platform which has the ability to transform the monotonous traditional teaching methods into a more engaging and interactive learning environment. While it does have some challenges, the advantages it provided far outweigh the challenges. And I think all the educators should integrate Kahoot!, not just for review sessions but as a regular ICT tool to assesses understanding and encourage teamwork.

Informative Tool: Enhancing communication and learning through Blog

Blog is a type of website that is regularly updated and provides insights on specific topics (Weiner, n.d.). The term ‘Blog’ is derived from ‘Weblog,’ a combination of the words ‘web’ and ‘blog.’ Blogs has emerged as powerful ICT tools that allow students to express their ideas, boost creativity and develop digital literacy. Blog offers a platform where anyone can share ideas, personal reflections, and stories with global audience. Although, blog has not yet replaced traditional journalism, many people now rely on trusted blogs to find information and guidance on various topics (Weiner, n.d.).

There are multiple benefits of blog, but one significant benefit of blogging is the chance it provides for bloggers to engage in genuine, authentic writing. Unlike traditional assignment, blogs are accessible to global audience which allows students to write for real audience which can help in enhancing the students writing, creativity and boosts motivation. During one of the sessions in the class, we explored how blogs can serve as a platform for documenting learning and life experiences, share viewpoints, and reflect on their personal development. Since blog is a platform where what you write can be seen and reached to multiple audience, it makes writing more meaningful, motivating learners to express themselves with greater depth and thoughtfulness.

Another benefit I like the most is how blog caters to the different learning styles of the learners. In blog, student can include text, images, videos, and links, allowing them to make their posts/works more interactive and engaging. For example, a travel blog like Denkar’s Getaway often includes beautiful photos, maps and personal anecdotes, providing a richer, multimedia experience. This flexibility not only helps the student creating the blog but also helps in catering to the different learning styles of the learners who are viewing the posts.

However, using blogs comes with its own set of challenges. Writing for a wide number of audiences can be intimidating and maintain a consistent posting schedule requires time and dedication. On top of that, while using blog, practicing digital safety and etiquette is important in fostering respectful and meaningful online communication.

Reflecting on this, I think that blogs are more than just digital journals for users; they serve as an important tool for developing digital confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Communicative Tool: Enhancing Classroom Management with Google Classroom

In today’s digital world where there is a constant transformation in the field of learning, Google Classroom has become a vital tool that enhances the learning experiences. Google classroom was introduced in 2014 as part of Google Apps for Education (GAFE), where it works as a free platform designed for both educators and learners which proved to be beneficial for schools especially in countries having limited financial resources (Azhar & Iqbal, 2018).  It can be used by various academic institutions as it allows them to effectively organize materials, monitor the progress of the students learning and maintain efficient communication between educators and learners.

The best features of Google Classroom that I liked the most are its assign
ment management system and how it enhances communication. Google Classroom simplifies assignment workflows by letting teachers efficiently create, distribute, and collect student’s works (ManagedMethods, 2025). Teachers can set deadlines, attach files in different formats, and provide detailed feedback and instructions for each task. Students are allowed to view and access the resources at any time, submit their work online and receive a timely response which encourages them to take account of their own learning and enhances engagement. Additionally, educators can also set the time for assigning the tasks and students will receive instant notifications about new updates.

Google classroom also enhances communication by allowing ongoing interactions through announcements and private comments, helping create a more inclusive learning environment and helping students who need extra support. On top of that, its seamless integration with Google Docs, Slides, and Forms simplifies resource distribution and encourages collaboration.

However, using Google classroom also presents certain challenges as students requires guidance and trainings to get familiar with its features and some students may find it difficult to manage notifications and multiple classes at once. Additionally, unequal access to technology can also become a challenge for the learners.

Despite the challenges, Google classroom is more than just a tool, it creates a structured and student-centered learning environment where students can take ownership of their own learning, so I think Google Classroom is one of the most effective digital tools for learning.
